NEW YORK (July 25, 2023) — O’Neill Consulting, a bold search firm and talent consultancy specialized in business services, consumer, industrial, and private equity, has recruited Michelle Clark as the new corporate controller for Simply Good Jars, the company that pioneered chef-made, ready-to-eat meals that are good for you and the planet. As seen on Shark Tank, the Philadelphia-based company is dedicated to improving lives and communities through responsible, respectful food choices centered around whole food ingredients.

As corporate controller, Clark will support the strategic growth and development of the organization through her ownership of corporate accounting, financial planning, budget management, and accounting and financial reporting activities.

“Michelle is going to be a truly transformational addition to our organization,” said Jared Cannon, CEO and founder of Simply Good Jars. “We are grateful for our partnership with O’Neill Consulting, their understanding of our business, and ability to deliver a great leader. They really helped us build the right scorecard and took our future plans into account, then delivered with urgency and a can-do attitude.”

The search team consisted of Oliver Poor, partner, and Zach Prentice, senior associate, both members of the firm’s Consumer Practice. In addition to providing strategic advice to Cannon, they collaborated closely with Josh Norbury, chief operating officer at Simply Good Jars. Together, the team closed the search in 96 days.

Clark brings 10 years of relevant experience to the company. Prior to joining Simply Good Jars, Clark was promoted twice through finance positions at superfood giant Ancient Nutrition. Her titles included director of technical account & compliance, controller, and vice president of finance. Clark earned a Master of Taxation from The Sorrell College of Business at Troy University and a bachelor’s degree in business administration and accounting from the University of Hawaii, West Oahu.

“The role of the corporate controller is essential in preserving the overall financial well-being of an organization,” said Poor. “We look forward to seeing the evolution and growth of Simply Good Jars under Michelle’s leadership for the accounting function.”
